Let’s get started!
DAY 1 of 7
THEME: I'm ready to be free of the addiction to cigarettes/tobacco/nicotIne.
INTENTION: I INTEND TO BE FREE OF ADDICTION ON (DATE 7 DAYS FROM TODAY)
1. Do not tell anyone, your friends, your family or your coworkers of your intentions or goals. Research proves that sharing your goals puts undue pressure on yourself and leads to failure.
2. Find a Calendar and select your break free day. Must be at least seven days from today. See Calendar Sample.
3. Circle or highlight the date on the calendar seven days from today. See Calendar Sample.
4. From today or seven days prior to the highlighted date, number each box 7, six, five, four, three, two, one. There is no zero. See Calendar Sample.
5. At the end of each day, please large green checkmark in the box of that day. DO NOT cross off. These accomplishments and are to be celebrated, not deleted! See Calendar Checked.
6. You will not be changing any of your smoking habits for the first six days.
7. Recite your intention... I intend to be free of addiction to cigarettes on (date 6 days from today)
You can use the intention as written in the example or modify it to suit yourself. Keep it clear and precise and short and memorable.
You will recite this intention throughout the day and every day for the next seven days. Reciting every time you light up will also be beneficial.
8. Water: most smokers drink coffee, tea, soda/pop, juice or some form of taste killing/modifying substance while smoking. Continue as you would normally, but I want you to add 2 to 4 glasses of water to what you already consume.
9. Follow along with the short breathing exercise.
- The first is a cleansing breathing exercise as demonstrated in video titled “Cleansing Breath”
10 deep breaths in and out, very slowly, fully inflating and deflating your lungs.
- Following this we shall perform a visualizing meditation. Follow along with video titled “Visualizing”
You’ll be visualizing your addiction centre of your brain as a cube of ice that melts and evaporates with every breath.
- Throughout the day whenever you smoke you will also perform extended exhalation which I will demonstrate for you in video titled “Forced Exhalation”. 3 to 4 forced exhalations through your mouth after exhaling the smoke from your cigarette.
10. Enjoy your day: start calculating how much money you’ll save after this.
